The Fixed Platform Oil Rig mod adds a unique industrial touch to the waters of Los Santos, turning what's usually an empty stretch of ocean into a believable offshore landmark players can actually use. Instead of feeling like a temporary prop dropped in with a trainer, the rig is built as a proper map add-on, so it blends into the world more naturally. For anyone into role-play, cinematic shots, or just exploring new places, having a permanent oil platform sitting off the coast makes the game's ocean feel more alive and purposeful than it does in the base version GTA 5 Modded Accounts.

The structure is positioned west of Vespucci Pier on the left side of the map and features multiple walkable levels, open decks, and a helipad. At night, emissive lighting makes it easy to spot from the air, especially when you're flying along the shoreline. The model started as a higher-poly asset but was optimized to keep performance stable, so it still looks detailed up close without being too heavy on most systems. Pair it with stormy weather or overcast lighting and it creates a great offshore atmosphere.

In gameplay, the rig works well as a scenario location. In single-player, you can use it as a smuggler hideout, a mission objective, or even a private base reached by helicopter. On multiplayer or RP servers, it naturally fits jobs like drilling crews, maintenance workers, or private security. The ladders, stairs, and tight walkways also make firefights more intense, since combat happens in close quarters.

It also sits comfortably alongside other offshore mods. Some oil-rig projects go huge, placing massive complexes far out at sea that require boundary-limit mods or special trainers to reach. Others focus more on interiors or cinematic detail. This one strikes a middle ground: large enough to feel significant, but optimized enough to run smoothly on typical setups.

You can see that balance in the technical side too. The optimized geometry, tuned lighting, and extended LOD distances help the rig stay visible from afar without hammering performance. The nighttime lights, especially on the helipad, make aerial approaches look great while keeping the structure from fading out too quickly at range.

Installation is simple if you've used GTA 5 add-on DLC mods before. You just place the "oilplatform" folder into mods/update/x64/dlcpacks and add its line to dlclist.xml. Once that's done, the rig loads automatically every time you start the game. There's no need to spawn it manually, which really helps sell the idea that it's part of the map rather than a temporary setup.

One nice detail is how the author prepared the files for creators who might want to move the platform. All the YDR pieces share the same origin point, so if you reposition the main structure in a custom map or on a FiveM server, everything stays aligned. That makes relocating it—farther offshore or closer to another coastline—much easier than adjusting every piece individually GTA 5 Money On PS5.

GTA 5's ocean is huge but underused, and adding a fixed offshore platform gives players a reason to head out there. Whether you're using it for missions, RP, exploration, or screenshots, it adds variety to the world without complicated setup or heavy performance costs.
